In 1991, few United Methodist Men got together, prepared a fine dinner of wild game, served some friends, and raised some money. Approximately 60 people attended that first event, which raised $600 for church projects. Truth be known, they had no idea what they were starting. A Hill Country tradition was born.
Nineteen years later, the Wild Game Dinner is widely acknowledged as the largest single fund-raising event in the Dripping Springs Community. In 2009, the Wild Game Dinner served almost 700 people, raised over $68,000 in gross proceeds and distributed over $50,000 in net proceeds to local charities and church missions.
In its two decades of existence, the Wild Game Dinner has raised more than $350,000 for charities and chuch missions, helped countless numbers of people in the community, and provided a much needed time for fun and fellowship in the dreary days of February.
